2500bc-14/1300bc An oval barrow with a ditch, oriented NS, with a central cremation in a pit and two inhumation deposits at the east and west edges of the mound, laid on the old ground surface before the mound was built.

Inhumation 1 at the west was of a young male in a strongly flexed position, on its right side, facing W, and covered with chalk rubble of the mound. A small circular hollow in the angle of the south east quadrant contained a flake scraper, a struck flint, and a small amount of (?)human cremated bone from the same area.

Inhumation 2 at the east was of two individuals balancing in position the west inhumation, a young female adult and a small child c1-2. The female had been laid front downwards, head twisted to the right, facing E, arms slightly akimbo but folded tightly upwards, legs bent at the knee and lying to the west. The child was 0.3m from the skull of the female.

The central cremation pit was disturbed and cremated human skeletal material, teeth and pig teeth were found around the pit. The barrow mound material contained a few worked flints and some small sherds including Peterborough ware and a B Beaker.

The two young male and female cranial bones contained some small Wormian bones in the lambdoid suture, usually a family trait.
