2500bc-14/1300bc A bell barrow whose mound comprised 6 distinct layers - clean soil, decayed turf, topsoil, chalk with some earth, earth with some chalk, and a chalk capping c0.9m thick. A small central pit containing the cremated bones of an adult was set into the natural surface. Accompanying the cremation was a small plain cylindrical pottery vessel (Aldbourne cup), a perforated bone pin, 7 amber beads, one small round flat piece of amber, and a flint flake (unburnt as was the pin). Above the pit was a spread c0.9m wide of burnt bones, surrounded by charcoal and wood ash.

1.2m east of the centre and 0.6m above the natural surface in the first layer of barrow material was a deposit of an adult cremation laid in a round heap. In Layer 5 above the central point was a succession of three beds of sarsen stones laid in circular form, between each a layer of charcoal with less on the largest upper bed. The lowest bed was 1.2m in diameter, and the upper 3.6m. The upper bed showed traces of fire in its inner 1.8m diameter area.

The mound contained many bones of ox and pig, an oval flint scraper, several flint chippings, and 12 pieces of pottery including a Beaker base.
