2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow with earth and chalk mound covering a central circular pit with the cremation of an adult male placed on the west side. Among the bones or on top were: a bone pin with perforated head, a bone (?)cloak fastener (both unburnt), a wrist guard (reworked but unfinished) and a pendant, both of fine grained stone and both burnt. The grave was covered by a chalk dome made from the excavated hole material. To the west of the grave was a 1.8m diameter burnt area with wood ash cover. There were ox bones in and around this area. |
