2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow with a central primary inhumation in a hollowed tree trunk coffin of oak 3m x 1.2m oriented SE, containing an adult possibly headless, wrapped in sewn deer skins, with an oak (or shale?) cup of lathe turned wood near the head end at the SE. There was also a piece of 'gold lace' c10cm x 7cm. The barrow mound was made of turf layers. |
