2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow containing at the centre a wooden boat-shaped coffin cut out of the trunk of a tree and containing a cremation. The coffin appeared to be designed to take a crouched burial. The rounded bows pointed ESE. The barrow mound contained a flint knife, a half-formed flint axe, 595 flint flakes, 4 worn pebbles and several pot sherds. |
