2500bc-14/1300bc | A bell barrow with a central grave containing the remnant of a cremation, and a ditch with a causeway at the south east. A turf sod mound covered the central pit, and a sand and gravel casing. There were two lines of stake holes up to the causeway, stake and post holes at the lip of the causeway, and a post hole circle around the ditch inner edge. The edge of the sod mound approximately coincided with a stake hole ring, and other stake holes roughly followed the east edge of the central grave. These various holes may have been used to mark out the structure, to site a temporary screen, to site a lean-to structure and to site a ring fence, entrance and barrier.
