3500bc - 2500bc | Long barrow with a trapezoidal mound oriented NE. Animal bone in and under mound, and 3 ox skulls more or less on the line of the barrow axis. Hurdling was set on the axial line, with bays, and brushwood spread horizontally between successive layers. No trace of human skeletal material, or of a mortuary structure, or of any paved burial area. There had been some previous excavation damage. After some silting, a round barrow was set on the north east end of the long barrow. |
