2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow with a stone and earth mound covering a large sub-rectangular grave pit 2.1m x 1.8m x 0.9m deep. On the bottom was a skeleton on its right side, legs tightly flexed, at the feet a bronze awl, and behind the back a type A Beaker. In the pit fill was a secondary Early/Middle Bronze Age vessel set in a pocket of dark soil. The grave had a ledge on the north side 15cm high and 30cm wide. |
