2500bc-14/1300bc A bowl barrow with a turf mound and a central oval grave pit which was filled with clean gravelly sand. No cremation or inhumation deposit, or accompanying grave goods were found. Acid soil may have destroyed the inhumation. Over the grave pit was a mound of gravel with steep sides and a flat top, the whole compacted and trodden down, and measuring 3m x 1.8m oriented NS. Eight grooved ware related sherds were found in a group in the barrow and some 50 flakes, the collection being Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age. There was a secondary cremation in the north west sector, unaccompanied. Around the core gravel mound there appears to have been a trampled gravel floor.
