2500bc-14/1300bc | A enclosure with a circular structure set against the bank in the south west quadrant. Inside the presumed house and near the central post hole was a small pit containing a cremation in a collared urn. The house and cremation were considered contemporary. A low flint cairn had been cut down into the back of the bank in the south west quadrant, and this contained as many as 6 cremations, 3 in urns, and the rest placed loose on the ground surface. Grooved ware pottery was found on site. |
