3500bc - 2500bc | Long barrow oriented ESE, of single phase construction built on old plough soil, with hurdle bays, filled with turf stacks and ditch material. Ebbsfleet and Mortlake ware, and undecorated ware were found, but no human skeletal material. (Compare Sites 75 and 76). RC: charcoal from old plough soil surface BM-356 2810 +/- 130, primary animal bone and antler from flanking ditches BM-357 2750 +/- 135, and BM-358a 2670 +/- 140; antler fragment from mound BM-358b 2580 +/- 110 |
