2500bc-14/1300bc A bowl barrow with 2 shallow concentric ditches and two pits in the central area. There were a few stake holes to the north of these, but not in a regular pattern.

Pit 1 was oblong, 3m x 1.5m x 0.9m deep, and oriented NS, with one rounded and one squarish end, and contained a series of deposits: at the top was a deposit of partly articulated human bones on a layer of fine charcoal. Then at the centre of the pit 0.3m deep was an animal bone surrounded by several blocks of gravel conglomerate, two Abingdon ware sherds and several flint flakes and implements of Middle/Late Beaker type. The filling down both long sides to a depth of 0.6m was densely flecked with charcoal, and the upper filling on the west side was reddened. At 0.6 and 0.7m deep were found two pieces of carbonised wood 1.2m x 0.2m x 3cm lengthways on. There was a second deposit of partly articulated human bones below a layer of charcoal at the base of the pit, belonging to an adult male. A third such deposit was 1.2m from the southern end of the pit with a barbed and tanged arrow head by the left foot. The bones barring one were all from one individual who appears to have been deposited in a decomposed state.

Pit 2 was 20cm west of Pit 1, of similar shape and 3.3m x 1.8m x 0.6m with a lobe at the north west corner, and filled with loamy gravel. There was a step on the east side of the base. A fragment of antler was found 0.6m deep near the middle of the western side. The bones of two children, a female c8 and a (?)male c11 with two plain body sherds probably of a regional Beaker were found in the pit extension. Both pits were filled in immediately after the burials.
