The moon-goddess Luna is easily recognised by the presence of a crescent moon on her head and three examples from Britain consist of heads only (296, 1173 and 1174). A possible fourth example from Wroxeter (394) was not located and no description has been found. Diana was also a moon goddess in Roman religion (Green 1989, 49), and thus these heads are usually thought to represent Diana Luna.
