Description | The figure stands upright and appears to be naked, although it is heavily worn. It is missing the extremities as the arms are broken off at the elbows and the legs broken off at the knees. The figure has its right arm raised and the left arm by its side, has one hip slightly higher than the other and wears an elaborate hat or helmet with a high forward facing extended tip which is now heavily worn, perhaps a plume or crest. The hat or helmet is worn above the hairline on the top and back of the head. These characteristics suggest that this may be a figure of Mars. The facial features have been entirely worn away. The legs are divided by a groove at the top before they separate (PAS). |
