Description | Not Roman, imported Kouros. Stands with right arm outstretched and the missing hand probably held an attribute. The left arm is bent with the hand at the side of the hip. The fingers on the hands are depicted. Broad shoulders and arms in comparison with the narrow waist and lower body. Legs not depicted (wearing a gown?) but feet project forward at the bottom (a short tapering projection with central forked cut to indicate the feet). Flat profile, no indication of drapery, facial features are crudely depicted. The head is conical. Below the feet is a short, pointed projection. |
