Description | The figure wears a long tunic under a cloak, the latter apparently fastened over one shoulder. Her left hand rests on the back of a small animal, apparently a dog, seated (?) on her left knee. Her right arm is broken off just below the shoulder but appears to have been outstretched to one side, though whether directly or also pointing slightly forwards one cannot tell because of the dirstortion of the stump in breakage. The arm certainly did not rest by her side or on her lap. . . the modelling is rather crude . (Dury and Wickenden) part of a larger composition, seat missing, and arm position suggests another figure or holding a branch/staff |
