Description | Portable shrine (aedicula) - inside the shrine is a figure of Minerva, almost 2-dimensional though her face and the peak of her helmet are more fully rounded. She is on a stand which is luted into place through a hole in the base of the aedicula.. Minerva stands fully frontal, probably wearing her aegis though this part of the image is indistinct because of corrosion. In her right hand she supports a lozenge-shaped shield and in her left a spear with its point downwards (Henig, 376) |
