Description | The fragment comprises the head of a horse and is broken at the neck which is lentoidal in section. The horse has an open mouth and pointed alert ears. The teeth and lips of the horse are rendered as incised decoration, the nostrils and eyes are moulded with incised central dots. The ears are moulded as one and beyond is a mane with strands of hair represented as notches. The horse is wearing a bridle, which is rendered as incised dots. The dots run from mouth to ear and then along the edge of the mane. They branch off to run over the nose and to its tip (PAS). |
