Description The figure portrayed is an apparently naked man, seated or crouched and distinctly hunch-backed, bound by a rope or chain, which encircles and links his neck and wrists and then descends close in between the arms and legs down to the ankle binding. His hands, arms, legs and feet are pressed close together, with elbows on knees and clasped hands thrust forward in front of the chin (Jackson).
