Description | a seated bearded male barbarian with his hands tied behind his back. The rope or chain that binds his hands is looped aroundhis neck, runs down behind his back to bind the hands, and then is continued down the back of his legs to tie his feet together. He wears trousers or leggins and possibly a garment on his upper body that simply merges into the trousers. He is bare-footed. His beard is thick and lustrous, while his hair is shown as divided into distinct clumps or buns, perhaps by plaiting and liming (Ferris p19). |
