Description A Late Iron Age or Roman free-standing figurine of the god Mars. The figurine is a copper-alloy depiction of the god standing, facing forwards with his left arm out stretched. His right arm is missing so it is impossible to say how the figure was holding that arm. The figure has also lost both feet. The surface of the copper-alloy is well worn and pitted. The figurine stands to a height of 55.47mm and the measurement across his arms (the width in the figurine) measures 31.87mm, from the stump of the right arm to the wrist of the left arm, he is also missing his left hand. The figure is wearing trousers and a jacket, which at first makes him look like a Medieval character. The figure is also wearing a head dress or it may be his hair. The figurine only weighs 19.14g. The obverse and the reverse of the figurine are equally decorated with the folds of his clothes and his face (PAS).
