4.4.32 Little Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire

Little Wilbraham is 11km east of Cambridge. Excavations on Streetway Hill in 1850-1 and 1926-7 revealed a mixed-rite cemetery of mid-5th–mid-6th century date. Over 350 inhumations were recovered, most with grave goods. The relationship of the Middle and Late Saxon settlement to this earlier cemetery is not known. The VASLE dataset is mostly derived from the PAS, with some records from the EMC.
