A number of additional fields were walked north of the RN 81, but apart from one fragment of Roman pottery (R10b) and the occasional tile fragment (e.g. a piece of tegula from field 43), there were no obvious finds scatters. A finely retouched flint blade of Neolithic-Bronze Age date (Fig. 96, 1) and a blade segment were recovered in Les Merassires, a field (42) on the lower terrace/alluvium sloping down to the river Celle. Another blade fragment came from the upper terrace at Les Bruyères (46), where a single undiagnostic Gallo-Roman sherd (4g) was also recovered.
