The primary uses of SASSA were felt to be out on site or in a classroom environment as a teaching aid. One point that was raised on a number of occasions in the workshop sessions concerned time constraints. It was felt that on commercial digs, using SASSA would be too time-consuming and the usefulness of the tool could not be fully exploited. However, on research digs SASSA could be extremely useful both for recording information and steering the archaeologist in terms of how the dig proceeds.
