3.2 Gramscatho Group

Gramscatho Group (Carne Formation) – two thin-sections from Cury were collected from field-walks around Cury, as no exposure could be found. On examination one was found to be a fine-grained, quartz-rich, sedimentary rock and therefore not related to igneous greenstone axes (CUR002). The other has abundant clinozoisite and epidote and a chloritised matrix and is unlike any axe thin-section examined during this investigation.
