Most participants included in their response to this question some element of discussion of the material presented; some raising specific questions. For example:

'Items such as the facts that in certain areas up to 70 people per year were humbled before the sessions out of a population of 1000, I would be interested to know if these were repeat offenders, or if they came from certain economic backgrounds. Surely the rich weren't made to go through this...'

'One of the questions it raises for me and I feel partly answers is why the reformation in Scotland took on this macabre element with an obsession about punishment and penitence in comparison to other countries. It would be interesting to see how or if the nature of surviving Catholic worship changed during this period.'
