Flaring thickened rim with a flat top and a slight cordon above the neck. The shape is similar to the Attic SOS Middle amphora (Johnston and Jones 1978 ). The fabric may also match published descriptions. SOS amphorae are usually slipped but there were no traces of a slip on these sherds, however, the surface of all the sherds was abraded and so any original slip may have worn off. Date 650-600, if it is an SOS amphora.
Arched handle on the shoulder of the vessel with a circular section.
