FISHEN (Forum for Information Standards for Heritage in
England) is a group whose members participate in the creation,
development, identification and review of data standards. It also
forges links with other groups working on standards-related issues.

MIDAS is a Manual and Data Standard for Monument
Inventories. It aims to provide a common format for monument-related
inventories, promote consistency, facilitate information exchange and
assist data migration. It is designed to be flexible, and does not

CIDOC Core Data Standard for Archaeological Sites and
Monuments defines 'the minimum categories of information required to
assess an archaeological site or monument, for planning, management,

protocols and software for sharing cultural heritage resources.

The exeGesIS Sites and Monuments Records Database is a
user-friendly MIDAS-compliant database application intended for use by
SMRs. It incorporates the RCHME Thesaurus of Monument Types. It is a
modular system, with text, image and map management modules. The

MONARCH is RCHME's Oracle-based database of information
on the architectural and archaeological heritage. MONARCH 'is very
broad in scope and covers archaeological sites, excavations and
