3.0 Conclusion

The application of the 'petrographic group' method for inter-site and regional comparisons enables a broader understanding of pottery production systems and their continuity in time and space. For this purpose, rich databases and standardisation of the petrographic descriptive methods are essential. The ever-growing body of data makes this goal possible to accomplish now.
