4.3.2 Future procedures

The next phase of our research (Phase 2, described above) will tackle these contextual issues by reconstructing as much of the 1970-1972 excavations as possible in order to retrofit the recorded artefacts within the new architectural landscape and its relative chronology. The contextual information from the excavations, which, in our system, is currently organised only at the level of the trench, must be further sub-divided. The stratigraphic and compositional data of each basket and the data on the finds from within them will therefore be entered into a database and linked to the areas within the (now) known constructions in an attempt to turn empty space into a meaningfully interpreted place.
