3.3.3 Decoration

Decorative appointments known from each room were included in the database. Wall paintings remain the primary surviving decoration. Styles and scenes in the decoration, when detectable, were recorded as well as their present state of preservation. Most of the information on decoration, however, was gleaned from the excavators' reports (see section 3.4, because the generally poor survival rate of the wall plaster in most bars means that little is currently extant. The decoration of counters was recorded with the description of each counter, and any decorative floor surface was included in the recording of floor surfaces.
