The parish of Narborough is situated in mid-west Norfolk, between Marham to the west and Narford to the east. The origins of its name are somewhat obscure, but may come from the Old English for 'fortified place at a narrow pass'. Saxon finds consist of pottery fragments, brooches, coins, pins and a stirrup mount. The VASLE dataset is derived from the Norfolk HER, with some data from the EMC.
