Moderate yet potentially significant densities of Iron Age pottery appear at Mavrovouni and Litharkies. The activity at Litharkies suggests continuity through to the Roman period, and may indicate Iron Age use of this site for mining and ore processing. Early mining at Alestos is understandable as it is the largest source of chalcopyrite in the Lagoudhera Valley.
